Originally designed for use as an electrical connector, DIN connectors have been adopted as equipment interconnects for a wide variety of signal applications. Available in both standard and mini sizes they can be supplied with a range of contact numbers and layouts.

Phone Connector / Audio Jack
Phone connectors come in three different sizes - 2.5mm, 3.5mm (1/8”) and 6.35mm (1/4”). 2.5mm and 3.5mm are popular amongst portable equipment, offering 2 contact (TS), 3 contact (TRS) and 4 contact (TRRS) versions with ‘T’ representing the tip, ‘R’ the ring(s) and ‘S’ the sleeve of the connector. 6.35mm jacks are more durable and allow for larger diameter cables to be used.
